About Us

Our school and nursery sit at the heart of Snitterfield, a beautiful rural village near Stratford-upon-Avon, in Warwickshire. Records show that there has been a school in the village since as long ago as 1682. We are very proud of our school’s heritage and equally proud to be part of such a vibrant local community.

The school has around 100 pupils on roll, taught in four classes. With the exception of our Reception Class (Class One), classes are taught as mixed year groups – Years1/2 (Class Two), Years 3/4 (Class Three) and Years 5/6 (Class Four).  The staff at Snitterfield work hard to provide the very best quality teaching and learning within a caring, friendly, family atmosphere. Children have access to a full and varied curriculum that is continually reviewed to ensure that provision is broad and rich and that links between subjects are fully exploited. As part of the Stratford Rural Schools Federation, we also benefit from the expertise and resources that are shared across our partner schools.

The school is housed in an historic building, dating back to the 1880s, set within generous surroundings. The school building still retains many traditional features, but over the years has seen a number of modern additions and improvements that have ensured our building provides the best of old and new. The school has its own pond and wildlife area which provides opportunities for regular hands-on explorations in science and a Forest School area along the edge of our large playing field which is used weekly by different ages. The school and nursery use the large playing field for PE and at playtimes when children don their wellies to ensure maximum use throughout the year. Snitterfield Nursery is a governor-led facility enabling exceptionally close links across the school and the nursery allowing the children to benefit in a variety of ways.
