Last week, the children celebrated Harvest around the world, each class performed something to do with Harvest and a country of their choice.
Generous parent donations, for Stratford's Food Bank, were displayed, along with a wonderful real 'harvest' from the school gardens. Thank you Hilary! One of the pumpkins was then used by Miss Findlay for making soup in Class 1 - deeeeelicious!
Given the importance of maintaining Year 6 pupils' social, emotional and mental health, Snitterfield School is preparing a well-rounded approach to SATs preparation.
Mr Young is starting a Thursday lunchtime SATS Attack Club which will start after half-term. The club is voluntary, but recommended, and will provide additional problem solving practice and assist the children to think mathematically and adopt best practices to use in their approaches.
Don't forget the Y6 Parents February Intro to SATS meeting too-event details are on the app and website.

Trainers from BikeRight deliver all cycle training, including Bikeability to schools, on behalf of Warwickshire County Council. For more information CLICK HERE.
CREATIVE CATS CLUB: Starting after Half-Term

CLASS 4 TRIP: Computing Workshop
Class 4 are being taken on a primary to secondary transition project focused on the teaching of computing for the morning of the 13th of November. They will be heading to King Edward VI School, Stratford-upon-Avon, who are running the workshop as part of the Digital Schoolhouse program.
More details on the topics covered can be found HERE.
What is the Digital Schoolhouse Project?
The Digital Schoolhouse is a primary to secondary transition project focused on the teaching of computing. It's an exciting initiative being funded by Warwickshire CC. The Interactive Entertainment trade body UKIE and the Digital Schoolhouse Trust have established a number of Digital Schoolhouses across the UK. Each of the Digital Schoolhouses aims to grow and support a network of teachers to deliver creative and cross-curricular lessons with computing at its heart.
Benefits for the pupils:
-
- Gain an important ‘secondary school’ experience to help with Primary/Secondary transfer
- Inspire them to try out new ideas
- Develop and encourage creativity, computational thinking skills and innovation
- Learn computing in a way that is both fun and creative
PARENTS INFORMATION SESSIONS 2018-2019
Snitterfield Primary School is pleased to provide you with a series of ‘Parent Information’meetings and workshops for 2018-2019. You will notice that, in addition to our usual ‘Parents' Evenings’ and ‘SATs Meetings’, we have added a number of other sessions to be delivered by ourselves and other providers.
In last year's Parents Survey 84% of parents felt that they were well informed about their child's learning but we recognise that we can improve on this. We are also aiming to engage parents in their child's learning by implementing a range of additional sessions on a range of subjects which we hope you will find useful.
If there are other areas or topics that you would like to learn more about in the future drop us a note and we'd be happy to consider adding it to next year’s programme. All dates have been added to the app and the website and links to each event are below. We look forward to seeing you there.
