Dear Snitterfield Family,
Happy Easter!
Eastertime is of course, all about hope – the world reawakening and new life emerging – and the promise of better times ahead. At the end of another unusual term, I expect that you, like me, are hopeful that we are all on the road back to some sort of normality. The lovely weather this week has given us all hope that we can look forward to meeting friends, seeing family and maybe even going on holiday at some stage!
It is also the time when I will be stepping back from the Head of School role at Snitterfield. It was only ever meant to be a caretaker position until finances allowed – it’s taken rather longer than anyone anticipated, but here we are, and I am very confident that Mrs Silk will do a fantastic job in the role. I have really enjoyed my time on the ground and leading the school through changing times, but I am also excited to be returning to my original role. The school is in a really good position moving forwards and we are going to be implementing an ambitious improvement and refurbishment programme over the coming year.
I will still be coming to Snitterfield every week – I’ll continue to teach Spanish in Key Stage 2 next term, and of course I’ll be helping Mrs Silk settle in to her new role. We know that change can be tricky but the usual staff will still be around – with the added bonus of a full time Head of School – great news!
So, I will sign off as the part-time, temporary Head of School and sign back on as full-time Executive Headteacher.
Whatever you are doing this Easter, enjoy your family time and I will see you all next term. Stay safe.
Sarah Plaskitt
COVID CONTACT TRACING DURING THE EASTER HOLIDAYS
Schools are being asked by the DFE to remain on call for any cases of coronavirus so that we can participate in contact tracing.
Therefore, for children who attend school on Thursday 1st April, you are required to contact the school if:
- children develop any of the top 3 symptoms, or
- have a positive home LFD test, or
- have a positive PCR test
This is anytime from leaving school on Thursday 1st April to midnight on Saturday 3rd April.
Please contact the school via the admin email on [email protected]
We are being asked to monitor this inbox until midnight on Wednesday 7th April. After that time, contact tracing will be managed by NHS Test and Trace.
Please remember that all families are entitled to supplies of home LFD tests – these can be obtained for free from the COVID test site at Stratford Leisure Centre – no appointment is needed.
Thank you for your support and assistance in this matter.
Hello from The Office,
We’ve made it to the end of another busy term!
I wanted to say thank you to all of you for your continued patience and co-operation, particularly with regard to the seemingly ever changing COVID advice. It is really starting to feel like we are on the home straight, so it seems to me that it is even more important to keep following the guidance and get ourselves over the finish line. (Sorry – that sounds a bit like Boris doesn’t it? Must watch less press conferences…) Thanks for doing your part – it really is appreciated!
More Thank Yous!
Firstly, to FOSS, who have made a couple of generous donations to the school in recent weeks – a sizeable contribution to the cost of new reading books for our Key Stage 1 children (no more Biff and Chip! Huzzah!) and an Easter treat for all the children which will be coming home today! Thanks to the committee for their sterling efforts and to all of you who have supported FOSS events in the past!
Secondly, thanks for your donations to our Comic Relief/Red Nose Day fundraising efforts. We raised a fantastic £132 for this brilliant cause. The School Council and Miss Barnett ran a virtual assembly and joke competition judged by our own ‘King of Comedy’, Mr Young. Congratulations to all the winners!
Looking forward to next term, our Local Police Team and Warwickshire County Council will be launching a “Kids & Cars Don’t Mix” campaign in the village. Look out for more details in the new term. I think that I have probably said enough about the parking issues around school in the last few weeks, but it is a serious concern – not just for us in school, but for the Local Authorities and the wider community. It puts the onus on all of us to keep the safety of our children in the forefront of our minds.
Enjoy the break – I am looking forward to catching up with family and friends, eating more than is good for me and a break from the computer screen!
Stay Safe!
Mr Berry (aka Wayne)
It's been a busy, brilliant month in Class 1 - the undisputed highlight has been the arrival of 5(!!) delicious scrumptious adorable Guniea Pigs - Gladys, Pearl, Shirley, Stanley & Gibbs.
The Children have also been very busy learning about the Green Cross Code and Number Bonds!
We rounded off the term with an eggsellent Easter Egg Hunt!

Class 4 started the month celebrating World Book Day with a human rainbow!
And congratulations to Skye and Sophie who won first place in the World Book Day Quiz run by Stratford High School!
