Welcome to the first Newsletter of this year!
Thank you to everyone for your huge patience during the first few weeks of term whilst we all adjust to school life as it has to be at the moment. We are constantly reviewing our processes in light of changing guidance and in response to how well the children (and parents!) have adapted to the systems. Thank you.
But enough of COVID! – in this newsletter we are focusing on your lovely children and what they’ve been up to in the last few weeks. Sadly, we aren’t able to have parents in school at the moment but we will be giving out our usual reward certificates soon and we’ll take photos to share with you. We’ve had a couple of ‘virtual’ assemblies which we are broadcasting into each classroom and they’ve worked well so far; we’re learning and improving in all these new skills!
Next week I’ll be sharing our Remote Learning strategy which we have to have in place in case your child needs to self-isolate, or in the event of a bubble closure or local/national lockdown. Please watch out for that information.
Have a great weekend : )

Hello from the Office!
First of all, a BIG thank you to all of you who have sent good luck messages and well wishes since I took up the daunting task of replacing Mrs Carless – they were very much appreciated! Secondly, thanks for bearing with me whilst I get my feet under the desk – it has been a bit of a change for me, to say the least, but Snitterfield Primary School is a lovely place to work and the smiling faces of your children walking past my office make it even better!
Thank you to everyone who returned the annual data collection sheets to school – it’s so important for us to have up to date contact details and medical information, especially in the current climate. If you haven’t returned your sheet pleases do so ASAP, or if you haven’t received a form, drop me an email and I’ll get one out to you.
I have sent out Parent Pay activation emails to all new parents, please have a look a setting this up soon. We can no longer accept cash payments at school, so this is the only way to pay for lunches and other school activities. If you didn’t receive your activation email or you would like more information please let me know.
Lunchtime Menu Changes: Week 1 Fishy Friday is now Gluten Free Breaded Fish Fillet with chips (same as week 2) - the unpopular fish cakes are no more!
Ed Tyler, the doyen of Snitterfield photographers, will be in school to take the annual School Portraits on Thursday 8th October - more details to follow soon!
Thanks for your co-operation and support,
Mr Berry (aka Wayne)
CLASS 1 - Welcome to our new Reception Pupils!
A BIG hello and welcome to our new Reception class and their families! The children have settled in brilliantly and are already impressing Miss Findlay and Mrs Varley! Here are some photos of them hard at work (and play!)...
It has been wonderful to have the children back in the classroom - we've missed them! Our new Year 1s have settled in and the new Year 2s are back in the swing of things! Here's a few photos of our busy first few weeks!
Class 3 have made a FANDABBYDOSY start to the new school year! The Stratford Ridgeback (a species of Dragon, if you didn't know) has been just one of our exciting topics - here are the children in action!
Class 4 are back and hard at work!
Following the announcement of Adam and Skye as Head Boy and Head Girl last week, our Year 6 children have also been elected to various roles of responsibility in the school. Elections for some of the jobs were held virtually via Microsoft Teams, so that all the children in both "bubbles" could participate at the same time - democracy is alive and well at Snitterfield Primary School!
House Captains:
Arden - Rhys & Rosa
This week also saw the first of the Bikeability Courses taking place. The instructors were very impressed with the behaviour of the children and with how well they progressed through the training - a real credit to the school! Here are some photos of the first group in action...(before the rain!)
A number of local High Schools have been in touch with details of their open events for prospective Year 7 pupils and their families.
